Understand your Medicare coverage and what it does not cover. The following are instances wherein you do not need to purchase a medigap insurance:
* if you are institutionalized or at home and on Medicaid;
*eligible for the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) program; or
*you join a Medicare Advantage Plan
