ACNs or 'Australian Company Numbers' are nine-digit numbers issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) to all companies registering under Australia's Corporations Act 2001 upon registration. The only way to 'get' an ACN is therefore to register an Australian company. Full instructions on how to do this are available from the ASIC website at http://www.asic.gov.au/.
