Outside of the initial funds needed to set-up a Hedge Fund, which average about $40,000, and the purchasing of equipment and programs needed, the partners in the Hedge Fund provide the capital themselves. Hedge Funds are structured as Limited Partnerships in which each individual partner invests their money. The fund manager pools the money together and begins trading.
