The way to use a debit card is not different than you would use a check you write. They're both the same as far as accessing the same account you have. A debit card is just nice to use because of swiping it at the cash register and you're business is done. Another advantage to a debit card is you can have overdraft protection which keeps you from having your transaction stopped. You do have to be careful of overdraft fees, but they're convenient to use.
