The driver os stock price is same thing drives the price of oil, gas, and the price of tea in china-supply and demand. That's it. When demand overwhelms supply, prices rise. When supply overwhelms demand, prices fall. Now there are zillions of things that factor into what supply and demand are going to be: economic data, earnings, emotions etc, but one can avoid dealing with all of those and just remember that supply and demand rule price's movement.
