The major and primary purpose of any finance company is to provide loans in order for businesses or individuals to have access to funding in order to go about their business. Most finance companies work with businesses of course, but if you include banks in the mix, they of course provide funds for businesses and individual consumers.
But again, finance companies provide liquidity so commerce can keep on running, which is part of the problem we have no with credit market seizing up and loans being hard to attain, if businesses even want them.
