A power of attorney is a document signed by an individual or a corporation that permits another individual or corporation to act on the first party's behalf in financial transactions. An individual might give a power of attorney to a trusted financial advisor which would permit the advisor to take money from a bank account, to invest it, to recuperate profit or interest on the first party's behalf, etc.
