Aircraft leasing is described in terms of moisture. A wet lease is a turn key, short term rental of an aircraft. Terms of a wet lease can range from one month to two years, and are assumed to include paid crew, engineers, insurance and mechanics. Wet leases are generally issued at hourly rates that include the total for all the services included. A damp lease is the same thing, but does not include crew and maintenance. A dry lease is the same thing, but only the plane, no insurance or certification, which must be provided by the lessor.
