Equity investment, or investing in equities is just another way of saying you're investing in stocks. Equity investments relate to raising money through investors who believe the future of a company is bright, and so expect return on their investment. This is different than raising money through debt, which offers more safety, but less in potential returns. An example of debt investing would be bonds.
