Everyone knows about investing in a new machine or office furniture, but what is an investment in human capital? Simply, you can have the most technologically advanced machinery or a beautiful office, but if you do not have the qualified personnel to perform, then the rest is really a waste. It is critical for a company to invest in employees that can provide the engine that allows it to not only go, but to grow as well. If a company or other entity does not make the critical investment in human capital, it can begin to wither and die the same as the company not keeping up with new technologies.
