SR-22 auto insurance isn't really auto insurance, but rather a document you carry to prove you have an auto insurance policy which meets the minimum liability demands for that particular state. This isn't something you go out in get, but rather a requirement the state will communicat to you on whether you must have it or not. Normally an SR-22 is required for drivers with bad traffic records through accidents occurring because of poor driving habits, or have been in an accident without having auto insurance.
