The Alliance Bernstein Income Fund is built to generate an income stream with the strategy of the safety of your capital while it does that. To that end, the fund will usually weight itself with 65 percent of its assets either guaranteed or issued by the U.S. government, instrumentalities, repurchase agreements in relationship to U.S. government securities or its agencies. Usually a minimum of 80 percent of the assets in the fund are related to securities which generate income. Other fixed income securities could be invested in by the fund - up to 35 percent - which could include those issued by foreign governments or other non-government entities. Up to 35 percent of the net assets of Aliance Bernstein could also be invested in securities considered below investment grade.
