Group insurance is a coverage purchased by the company for its employees and underwriters underwrite the risks involved by grouping the individuals and set rates based on the group of individuals as a whole. While individual life coverage is purchased by individuals and underwriting is based on his/her lifestyle, habits, occupation and health factors.
