Since the Great Depression, stocks have historally average anywhere from 10-14% annually over time. Small-cap stocks have averaged perhaps 12-14% in that time, while large-cap stocks have averaged a couple of percentage points less. Of course, the markets have slowed down the past couple of years as we have experience another major correction, just as we have about every 30 years.
