The FOREX market is the closest thing to a 24/7 market. The FOREX market is open 24 hours a day, but there are 3 difference sessions within those 24 hours during which the market is most active.
These sessions are the Tokyo session, the London session and the U.S. session.
The Tokyo session begins at 7PM EST and ends at 4AM EST.
The London sessions begins at 3AM EST and ends at 12PM EST.
The U.S. session begins at 8AM EST and ends at 5PM EST.
It is during these three sessions that the FOREX market is most active. However the market is open 24 hours a day from Sunday to Friday.
