Currencies are traded either in an over the counter (OTC) format, or on an exchange. There are multiple OTC platforms available for individual investors. By searching for "currency trading" in a search engine, multiple platforms will advertise their expertise. These companies will allow an individual to trade currency pairs and extend leverage to enhance an investors returns. A second way to trade currencies is through and exchange. Investors can either trade futures on a futures exchange or exchange traded funds (ETFs) which have currency exposure. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) offers futures on currencies, and IShares, offers ETF that are direct currency exposure.
