You should be able to buy euros in the US from any major bank. You may need to call ahead of time to ensure that they are in stock. You also may want to call a local currency exchange and compare this rate to the bank's. This is true abroad as well; currency-exchanges are not always the best deal. One common option is to fortify your US bank account with sufficient dollars, and then use your debit card in foreign ATMs for local currency. This strategy can get you a reasonable rate and the safety of not carrying a lot of cash in hand. Just be aware of whether your bank charges for this service. You can INVEST in Euros in currency funds, listed on most major national exchanges.
