Just about everyone in business needs an accountant, and should secure one. If you're concerned over the costs, you could, in the early stages of a business do your own accounting, especially a service business which usually has much less data to sift through, and is much easier to do. If you're unsure in any way, it's best to pay out the extra money to get your accounting done properly. I've seen some nightmares through the years of people who have thought they could do their own accounting and had to pay more to clean up their mess.
