People invest in stock markets with the hope that it would offer higher returns. They are hoping that the stock’s price will rise, so that when they sell their shares, it can be sold at a profit. Buying stocks of a corporation means you own part of that company. It gives you a vote at annual shareholder’s meetings and a right to future profit of the company.
