It is only your bank or credit card issuer who can really give you specific reason why a certain card was declined. However, there are common reasons that may cause the decline. For online and offline transactions, it’s probably because you have insufficient funds, you typed wrong information like credit card number or expiration date, you have failed address verification, failed CVV2 code match (CVV code is the 3 digit code on the back of your card. American Express card displays 4 digit code), or because the Address Verification Service is not supported by your bank in the particular country you are purchasing from.
