PAA - Plains All American Pipeline
Plains All American Pipeline (NYSE:PAA) was officially launched in 1993 when they completed building the Cushing Terminal in Cushing, Oklahoma, for the "increased movements of crude oil into the Midwestern region of the United States," according to the company Web site.
In 1998 the company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "PAA."
Along with the transportation of crude oil and other petroleum products, the company also stores, terminals and markets the products.
It does this through its three main businesses: Transportation, Facilities, and Marketing; all operating in the North American market.
Some important acquisitions include Scurlock Permian, assets and operations from Murphy Oil Company Ltd. and CANPET Energy Group and assets from Shell Pipeline Company.
In the mid-2000s, the company acquired a bunch of companies, with 15 of them being in 2005 and 2006 alone.
The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Houston, Texas.
