The prospectus is a legal document that formally outlines all of the pertinent information and characteristics of a mutual fund. This document will list a fund's managers, investment philosophy, fees and sales charges, historical performance and other relevant data. All mutual fund investors must be furnished with a prospectus either before or at the time that shares are purchased.
