Robert Mugabe Promises to Institute 'Indigenization and Empowerment Act'

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Robert Mugabe has been one of the worst leaders on the world stage over the last decades, and his plan for forcibly allow blacks in Zimbabwe to completely take over control of all businesses in the country is a disaster, and he reiterates he's ready to impose the new law on the nation, effectively bringing it even under more stress and turmoil.

Many blacks in the nation have opposed the measures, which already have been destructive for the many white farmers which have already been forcibly removed from their land and replaced by blacks in the nation, who pretty much are squatters and not farmers, basically wasting the resource in the name of Mugabe's ideology, which plays to populist feelings among parts of the population of the country.

The law was passed in 2008 when Mugabe's people controlled the parliament of the country, and while scheduled to be put into force on March 1, has been rolled back for now in face to increasing opposition and concern over investing in a country that forces control to be handed to over to its people, rather than the foreign businesses wanting to do business there. This is destroying the country, yet the fanatical Mugabe continues his fixation to the exclusion of almost everything else.

Former head of the opposition party Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, said the law has been laid aside for the purpose of attracting foreign investment to the country, but Mugabe refutes that, saying he will push the law forward.

Representatives of Mugabe's party say they've only suspended the law for more talks, and it hasn't been set aside.

This of course is the problem and challenge of Zimbabwe, as there are no certainties, and completely different signals sent from their political leadership.

If a business looks at that, they understand it's like rolling the dice as to whether they'll retain control of their companies if they invest millions, or even billions into the country through their businesses.

The people of Zimbabwe will continue to suffer because the murderous Mugabe hasn't been pressured to be removed from office, as he has reportedly killed hundreds of those in the opposition party, and has done more to harm the people than any of the past perceived harms.

Not only that, but there are reports of tens of thousands of violation of rights, torture and arrest for no reason under Mugabe, who has been allowed to continue on with his policies and actions, which have done more to damage all people in the country than any other events.

The so-called 'Indigenization and Empowerment Act' does need to be abandoned, as it empowers no one, and if we can use the forcible takeover of farms owned by white farmers in the country as a pattern, all that will happen if it is put into force will be the removal of those that know how to do business and replace them with those who are not only clueless, but would probably allow them to run down as they have the former great farms of the country.
