MCD - McDonald's
McDonald's Corporation (NYSE:MCD) is one of the most recognizable brands in the world, and was founded in 1940 as McDonalds Bar-B-Que, when brothers Dick and Mac McDonald opened their first restaurant up in California.
One lasting legacy of the McDonald's was they are credited with developing and implementing the first fast-food restaurant through what they called their "Speedee Service System."
Eventually Ray Kroc bought on the McDonald's and he opened his first McDonald's restaurant in 1955.
McDonald's provides a plethora of food items for breakfast and throughout the day, with coffee and related items being one of the most recent successes, as they grabbed market share from competitors with many customers saying it was as good as the higher priced coffee and related products.
Most recently as far as general expansion, Asia has been one of their key target markets, with China leading the way, as the concept of fast-food and drive-through service catches on in the middle kingdom as the Chinese buy up more cars and use them as their preferred means of transportation.
McDonald's Corporation is based in Oak Brook, Illinois.
