Through its many subsidiaries which are branded as OxyChem, Occidental Petroleum has expanded its manufacturing business in North America in basic chemicals, vinyls and a number of specialty chemical products. They are also the largest producers of Calcium Chloride and Cuastic potash in the world.
Major acquisitions include a 50% interest in oil and gas properties in the Permian and Piceance Basins, production assets from Vintage Petroleum and Altura Energy, LTD.
The company is based in Los Angeles, California.
