Toyota will Hire More Workers to Increase Production

Toyota, Japan will increase their production this year by employing thousands of contract workers after the March 11 earthquake. Toyota wants to cope with their production starting July, because of the 75% plunge in their production in April. They will hire 4,000 employees. Nissan will hire 200 workers and Honda will employ 1,000. Since the earthquake and tsunami devastation in Japan, automobile companies are experiencing problems with their supply chain and power shortage. Toyota lost about 670,000 units. Toyota declared that their production levels will be restored to 100% in July. Ironically, when Toyota's production fell to 50%, they had let go of their temporary employees and now that they need to produce more cars, they will hire more employees.
