China to abandon one child policy

Today Xinhua, the state-run news agency said that citing a statement from the Communist Party all couples will be allowed to have two children.The population control policy from the People's Republic of China which was officially adopted in 1979. In 2007, just 36% of China's population was subject to a strict one-child restriction with the additional 53% were allowed to have a second child if the first child was a girl. The sex ratio at birth (between male and female births) in mainland China reached 117:100 between 2000 and 2013.
